The village of Plaka, inspiration for Victoria Hislop’s award-winning novel “The Island”. Traditional methods of agriculture blending seamlessly with the new. The serenity of small monasteries, the gentle rhythm of village life sustaining the Cretan people as it has done over the centuries.
